stoplight haiku

cold wind fingers wave
giant as revelations
hidden as wishes

I’m reminded of
another year like this one
when the leaves turned late

school bus memories
like long forgotten whispers
in the morning dark

Monday through Thursday
the hours have the same names
but they take longer
